Lauren Groh-Wargo

Lauren Groh-Wargo is a top political strategist, executive, and fighter for economic justice; and she is a key leader in shaping the emerging Democratic wave in the South.

In 2012, Lauren worked with Stacey Abrams to chart and then execute a ten year plan to build Democratic and progressive wins for Georgia through building progressive, partisan and civic engagement organizational, human and financial infrastructure. This infrastructure was supported or built from scratch to register and mobilize voters of color, win new local legislative, municipal and district attorney seats across the state, and build the political power necessary to win statewide elections and put Georgia on the map nationally for Democrats.

Most recently, Lauren reprised her role as the campaign manager for Stacey Abrams for Governor, a campaign that broke state records for fundraising and turnout and in 2017 placed the first African American woman on the ballot for governor for a major party in U.S. history.

Spurred by the voting irregularities in Georgia and across the country during the 2018 election, Lauren formed and was the first CEO of Fair Fight Action, which focuses on fighting voter suppression; FFA played a critical role in building voter protection in the 2020 battleground states and its PAC played the leading role in the successful 2021 Georgia runoffs that sent two Democratic Senators to Washington.

She started her career by organizing tenants to improve living conditions in Brooklyn, New York, which led her into the labor movement and campaign work. An organizer at heart, Lauren has led or advised campaigns, nonprofit organizations and leaders over the past 21 years at the national level and in New York, Ohio, Connecticut, Louisiana, Tennessee, Florida, Arizona, Virginia and Georgia. Throughout her career, Lauren has raised money door-to-door, advised high net worth donors and built Fair Fight Action into an over $100 M annual organization.

In her work, she helped pass ballot initiatives to raise the minimum wage, and she supported emerging political leaders across the South and around the country in building their organizations and their leadership. Raised near Cleveland Ohio, she holds a degree in Economics from American University.

Lauren resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her partner and son and is currently taking on limited consulting projects through her firm Swing State Consulting.
